Q  Are Airline Tickets included in the fare?

Yes from Australia - No from the rest of the world.

Q  What's the weather like?

We are touring North America during the summer months. The temperature ranges from 30c in Fairbanks but along the seaboard maximum 18 - 25c

Q  What is the standard of hotels?

Hotels are 3.1/2 to 4.1/2 star standard and consist of Holiday Inns, Quality & Comfort Inns, Best Western, Fairfield Inns by Marriott, Radisson 
&
Wyndham & Excutive Inns. All hotels are air conditioned and centrally located with private facilities. Most have tea and coffee making
facilities. In USA refrigerators are not the "norm" but hotels have ice machines. All accommodation is based on single, twin or triple share
Triple rooms are not suitable for persons of the same gender

Q  Is porterage included?

Yes, porterage of one (1) suitcase, the dimensions as follows 140cm (56") Sum of L+W+H Maximum weight 30 kilograms for coach travel and 23
kilograms for air travel.

Q  What about carry on bags?

The company provides a carry on bag for all passengers. This is the only carry on bag allowed on the coach apart from a camera bag. Wheeled 
carry
on bags are not permitted as hand luggage for coach travel.

Q  Meals - are they difficult to find?

All breakfasts are now included with the exception of Banff. Eight specialty dinners and two lunches are included on the Grand America Tour.
Meals are easily found in North America. Meals are of huge quantity and variety and are available in hotel restaurant/coffee shop or in the 
immediate vicinity of the hotel. It is also permissable to "split" (share)your meal with your travelling companion. You will need to budget
AUD$50 per person per day to cover meals not included in the itinerary , and any incidentals.

Q  Can we carry fruit or food on the coach?

It is permissable to carry just enough fruit for the day - no coffee -ice cream - hot food. An esky is carried on board the coach for water -
which is kept on ice and is available for $1.00 per bottle. Another esky is kept under the coach for wine or beer. Perishable food and fruit
cannot be transported over State or International Borders.

Q  Is it OK to have bottles of soft drink (soda) in the Coach?

No glass is permitted on the coach. Plastic bottles are OK.  Alcohol is not permitted on the coach under any circumstances. and must be
kept underneath.

Q  Is 60 days too long ?

No , the Grand America tour is quite leisurely with two four nights stops as well as quite a number of two night stops. The coach is extremely 
comfortable and stops are made approximately every two hours for 30 minutes, for morning and afternoon stops as well as 1 hour stop for lunch. 
Stops are also made at points of interest or for photos. 

Q  What about optional extras ?

Sightseeing and entry fees are included so there are very few optional extras available on the Grand America Tour. They mostly consist of two 
special dinner cruises, dinner at the Skylon Tower Niagara Falls, flights over the Grand Canyon, day tour to Tijuana Mexico, high tea at 
Butchart
Gardens, dinner at Fayetteville.

Q  Are airport taxes included?

Yes, airport taxes and Driver / Guide Gratuities are included in the fare.

Q  What kind of clothes should I pack?

Casual. The "layered look" is best. Layers can be taken off as the weather warms up.

Q  What is the coach like?

Coaches used for touring North America are "State of the Art" Highway coaches and are part of the Cardiff Limousine and Transportation Fleet, 
Rest room equipped, reclining seats and high panoramic visibility. Our drivers are highly experienced professionals. Our touring coaches are 
non-
smoking and to enable all travellers the opportunity to enjoy forward and window seats , passengers must change seats during the course of the
tour as requested by the Tour Manager.  Seat rotation is mandatory

Q  What documentaion do I need for North America ?

All travellers must posses a valid , current passport. Australian citizens do not require a visa for Canada.  

New entry requirements for ALL visitors to the USA are effective from 12 January 2009. Details available on request. You can also refer to the 
US
Government's website at https://esta.cbp.dhs.gov/esta. Visas are not required for USA unless you are staying more than 90 days.


Q  Do I need Travel Insurance?

Yes, travel insurance is strongly recommended for all travellers. Travel Insurance is a condition of carriage

Q  Who do you fly with ?

We use the services of Air New Zealand for our North American tours to Los Angeles and on occasion V Australia or Delta Airlines. From Los
Angeles we use Air Canada, Southwest Airlines or United.

Q  Are the tours escorted ?

Yes - All tours require a minimum of twenty (20) full fare paying passengers to operate and for the services of a professional World 
Discovery Tours Escort or at the discretion of World Discovery Tours.
