Day 1Day 2 Tuesday Auckland - Bay of Islands
This morning we cross the bridge over beautiful
Auckland Harbour and travel through the northern
beach suburbs, then proceed on to the tranquil Bay of
Islands. Afternoon free. Optional 'Hole in Rock

Day 3 Wednesday Bay of Islands
Our day is spent touring Cape Reinga including a
thrilling drive along the imposing Ninety Mile Beach.
We return to our hotel in the late afternoon. [BD]
Day 4 Thursday Bay of Islands - Auckland
After breakfast we return to Auckland, stopping at
the historic Waitangi Treaty House and the Matakohe
Kauri Museum enroute. [BD]
Day 5 Friday Auckland - Rotorua
Our morning is devoted to a tour of the city before
we travel south through Waikato to Waitomo. Enjoy a
leisurely boat ride into the world-famous underground
glow-worm caves, then continue on to Rotorua. Visit
awe inspiring Whakarewarewa Thermal Region continue
on to our hotel for a Maori Hangi[BD]
Day 6 Saturday Rotorua to Napier
This morning we visit Rainbow Springs and the "Farm
Show" for an insight into New Zealand's agricultural
industry. Then travel south to Wairakei Geothermal
Power Station to Huka Falls and then on to Lake Taupo
for lunch. Then travel to the east coast to Napier,
the Art Deco capital of New Zealand [BD]
Day 7 Sunday Napier - Wellington
Short morning tour of Napier then head south to
Wellington, the nation's capital. Afternoon tour of
the nation's capital, including Mount Victoria [BD]
Day 8 Monday Wellington - Christchurch
It's time to unpack your sealegs for the crossing of
Cook Strait by inter-island ferry. We cruise through
picturesque Marlborough Sound as we head for the port
of Picton on the South Island. Once back on dry land
we travel along the east coast of the island, through
Blenheim and Kaikoura to Christchurch. [BD]
Day 9 Tuesday Christchurch - Hokitika
Described as one of the world's most spectacular
train journeys, the Tranz-Alpine Express takes us
through the lush countryside and over the
breathtaking Southern Alps to Greymouth. In the
afternoon we travel along the west coast to Hokitika -
Greenstone Capital of New Zealand - - with time to
visit a glass-blowing factory and a Jade Factory
before arriving at our hotel. [BD]
Day 10 Wednesday Hokitika - Fox Glacier
Our journey today continues along the west coast and
on to Franz Josef and Fox Glaciers. For an
additional thrill [and cost] you have the opportunity
to take a helicopter or light aircraft flightseeing
excursion up onto the frozen ice. [BD]
Day 11 Thursday Fox Glacier - Queenstown
This morning we travel through Haast Pass and along
the cliff-side drive above the waters of Lake Wanaka
to the holiday village named after the lake. We
continue past Lake Dunstan and through Kawarau Gorge
and Arrowtown to Queenstown - truly one of the
world's most picturesque settings. [BD]
Day 12 Friday Queenstown
Today is yours to enjoy as you wish. You can opt for
a thrilling jetboat ride down a river canyon, or have
your breath taken away by the views from a more
sedate helicopter ride to the mountaintop. For those
with a daredevil approach to life, there's the world-
famous Bungy Jump! Just make sure you're back in time
[and one piece]for our dinner cruise aboard the TS.S.
Earnslaw on Lake Wakatipu. [BD]
Day 13 Saturday Queenstown - Te Anau
After breakfast we travel to Te Anau, gateway to the
incredible Fjordland National Park. We travel
through the Eglinton and Hollyford Valleys then
Homer Tunnel to reach Milford Sound. We cruise past
cascading waterfalls and through reflected images of
the peaks on the surface of the glass-like water.
Afterwards we return to our hotel in Te Anau. [BD]
Day 14 Sunday Te Anau - Dunedin
Today we travel south through the sheep-grazing
Southland Region to the coastal city of
Invercargill. Then it's northwards to Dunedin -
justifiably known as the 'Edinburgh of the South'-
which becomes evident as we take a short tour of the
city and Olveston House before reaching our hotel.

Day 15 Monday Dunedin - Omarama
We follow the coastline this morning to visit the
unusual rock formations called Moeraki Boulders, then
we turn inland through Waitaki Valley and past
hydropower stations to Omarama. [BD]
Day 16 Tuesday Omarama - Christchurch
Our travels this morning take us up into the high
mountain country, past Lake Pukaki and on into Mount
Cook National Park. There is an opportunity to take
an optional flightseeing excursion onto the
mountain. After lunch we travel through Mackenzie
Country, across Burke Pass and descend onto the lush
rolling Canterbury Plains to reach Christchurch. [BD]
Day 17 ... Christchurch - Auckland - North
Day 17 America or on to Australia
Its time to say 'Haere Ra'[Farewell] to the Land of
the Long White Cloud . We transfer to the airport.
