Home port to Melbourne.
Morning departure by air from Home Port.
Arrive Melbourne. Transfer to Spirit of Tasmania, via
Melbourne downtpwn shops if time permits,for your
cruise to Devonport.(Dinner own expense on Spirit of
Tasmania) 9.00pm departure. Overnight Spirit of
Tasmania in 2 bed cabins (2 lower berths)with

Day 2 Wednesday
Launceston. BD
7.00am Arrive Devonport on the Spirit of Tasmania.
Disembark and rejoin your coachand travel a short
distance to the Argossy Motel for a hearty
breakfast.After breakfast visit the Ashgrove Cheese
Factory and then on to Sheffield, the town of
murals,Australia's largest art gallery.
Lunch Deloraine (own expense)
After lunch travel to Launceston and visit Cataract
Gorge - featuring the world's longest single
chairlift span(308 metres).

Visit Batman Bridge,the World's first cable stayed
truss bridge, Beauty Point & Seahorse World.
Experience the mystery of the Pot Bellied
Seahorse. Visit the Beaconsfield Gold Mine. Then on
to Grindelwald an authentic Swiss
style village nestled in the rolling hills of the
Tamar Valley followed by a visit to Penny Royal
(currently closed) & a tour through Launceston.
Day 4 Friday
Launceston to Scamander BD
Travel the Tasman Highway through rich farmland and
magnificant rainforests towards the east coast.
Scottsdale is the centre of rich agricultural, dairy
and forestry area. Travel over the Weldborough Pass
to St Helens, the largest town on the east coast.
Follow the coastline of the Tasman Sea to the resort
town of Scamander.

Day 5 Saturday
Scamander to Port Arthur BD
Follow the pearl white beaches of the East coast to
Bicheno. Visit Natureworld, a birdlife
and animal park on 62 hectares. Say 'Hello' to a
Tasmanian Devil. Continue past the Freycenet
Vineyards to the town of Swansea. Step back in time
at the Bark Mill with it's machinery still in working
order. Stop and ponder the idea behind the Spikey
Bridge. Visit the Church of St John the Baptist
(1846) at Buckland, featuring a stained glassed
window made in the 14th century in England. Join the
Arthur Highway at Sorell, the gateway to the East
Coast and Port Arthur. On our way to Port Arthur
visit Doo Town, the Blow Hole, Tasmania's Arch and
Devil's Kitchen. After dinner optional ghost tour of
Port Arthur Penal Settlement.

Day 6 Sunday
Port Arthur to Hobart BD
Guided tour of the grounds and ruins of Port Arthur
Penal Settlement. Harbour cruise to view two of the
famous islands of Port Arthur. visit the island of
The Dead (own expense). Free time to explore the Port
Arthur ruins - commandant's cottage, the dispensary,
prison, the church and many more.... visit Port
Arthur Interpretation Centre and Museum. Optional
Seaplane flight over Port Arthur.
Travel to Richmond - Site of Australia's
oldest bridge built in 1823 and still in use. Visit
Australia's oldest Catholic Church. Free time to
wander the many craft and curiosity shops in
Richmond.
Visit Old Hobart Historical Model Village.

Day 7 Monday
Hobart BD
Morning tour south of Hobart to view the world's only
round sandstone shot tower. Travel on to Huonville
and the Tahune Tree Top Walk. Return to Hobart via
the summit of Mt Wellington for a spectacular view of
Hobart (weather permiting).
After dinner visit Wrest Point Casino (Australia's
first). Try your luck or just absorb the atmosphere.

Hobart BD
Visit the Cadbury Chocolate Factory.(not Christmas
departures). Lunch (own expense).Free time for
shopping. Visit the Cat and Fiddle Arcade and take a
short tour of Hobart.

Hobart to Queenstown BD
We farewell Hobart and travel the Lyell Highway to
New Norfolk past Bushy Park Hop fields and Oast
houses.Travel through Derwent Valley and the villages
of Hamilton, Ouse & Tasmanian hydro-electricity -
Tarraleah and Tungatinah Power Stations. Pass
the Geographical centre of Tasmania as we enter Wild
Rivers National Park. Visit the Wilderness Wall at
Derwent Bridge. Travel through the ghost towns
of Linda and Gormanston. Descend Gormy Hill into the
Westcoasts largest town - Queenstown. A guided tour
of the surface workings of the Mt Lyell Copper Mine.
After dinner optional underground tour of the copper
mine (own expense).

Day 10 Thursday
Stahan - Gordon River Cruise. BLD
An early rise as we travel to the small fishing
village of Strahan. Board our cruise boat "Wanderer
lll" for a cruise on Macquarie Harbour. Visit famous
Sarah island, penal settlements as portrayed in the
book 'For the Term of His Natural Life'.
Cruise through the entrance of Macquarie
Harbour,known as Hell's Gate. Cruise up the Gordon
River and enjoy a short walk in the rainforests to
view a 2000 year old Huon Pine tree. Returning to
Strahan we pass an Alantic Salmon Fish Farm in
Macquarie Harbour. Free time to browse the shops and
the old saw mill before returning to Queenstown.

Day 11 Friday
Queenstown to Cradle Mountain - Devonport. B
Leaving the West Coast we travel to Cradle Mountain
and Dove Lake with the opportunity to walk to Crater
Lake or Glacier Rock (weather permiting). In the
afternoon travel to Burnie for a short tour before
boarding the Spirit of Tasmania for travel back to
Melbourne. Depart Devonport 9.00pm. (Dinner own
expense on Spirit of Tasmania)

Day 12 Saturday - Home Port
7.00am Arrive Station Pier, Melbourne - disembark.
